When Emma & Tommy told me their wedding ceremony was at Christchurch in Old Town with a reception at Bowood House I knew it would be an epic affair. It did not disappoint. I sometimes worry with larger venues that the intimacy can evaporate into the high ceilings of the grand buildings they inhabit, but this was always going to be impossible with Emma & Tommy’s personalities. So warm and down to earth, they managed to organise and host one of the most spectacular weddings I have had the privilege of filming in 2015.
I was told before the wedding that Tommy had been dreading his speech for months but he knocked it out of the park, his timbre and confidence giving him the air of a seasoned professional. Emma stunned with her dress, and evoked laughter with her infectious giggling, but given how she handled the fire alarm and bottle of champagne… well let’s just say I’m glad the fireworks were in the hands of professionals. And that was how the day ended, with the most sky-rending fireworks display I, and probably Bowood House, have ever seen. It really is a shame Bruce couldn’t have made it, because the fireworks were hailin’ over Little Eden that night.
Thank you Emma & Tommy for letting me be part of your day. I hope you enjoy your wedding films for many years to come.
With kind permission of the bride and groom, I hope you enjoy Emma & Tommy’s Highlights Film and the stills taken from the footage of their wedding day:
